Joana Hadjithomas, a prominent figure in contemporary Lebanese cinema, has collaborated with Khalil Joreige throughout her career. She studied alongside Joreige in France and the USA, earning degrees from the University of Nanterre and New York University in Film Direction.
Hadjithomas and Joreige's partnership has resulted in a diverse range of short and feature films, produced between Paris and Beirut. Their work has garnered significant recognition at film festivals, including the prestigious "Montgolfière d'Argent" award for their 2005 film, A Perfect Day.
Throughout their oeuvre, Hadjithomas and Joreige have consistently explored the complexities of modern Lebanon, tackling themes such as reconstruction, as seen in their satirical debut feature, Around the Pink House (1999),and the devastating effects of war, as depicted in Je veux voir (2008),which features Catherine Deneuve and addresses the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah War.
