Jodi began her acting career in San Francisco under the guidance of renowned theater guru Jean Shelton, immediately following her graduation from Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa, California. Since then, she has appeared in numerous theatrical productions on some of the most prestigious stages in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
With the acquisition of her SAG Card in 1986, Jodi's career took flight, where she went on to appear in top-rated TV shows and features over the last twenty years, including Junior, One Life to Live, Stop with the Kicking/HBO, Murphy Brown, Married... with Children, Friends, ER, CSI: Miami, and Seinfeld.
After meeting her husband, actor Jim Fitzpatrick, the dynamic couple set up shop (Five Star Studios, Inc.) to produce one- and two-act plays for the stage in Los Angeles. During this time, film and TV producers began buying the rights to several plays that "Five Star" had created and produced, which prompted Jodi and her husband to expand their operations into film and television.
And they have since created several TV pilots, including "Godparent$" and "Right Hand Man" for Supernatural, as well as the feature film An American Reunion. Jodi and her family have recently relocated to the West/Central Coast of Florida to build studios and produce feature films.
Jodi became interested in entertainment at a young age due to her father, Ed Knotts, who was a guest singer and dancer on The Lawrence Welk Show with Merv Griffin, and her cousin, Don Knotts. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work with some of Hollywood's biggest stars, including Robin Williams, Kevin Pollak, Dana Carvey, Danny DeVito, Glenn Close, as well as the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
