Joe Chacon, a multifaceted individual, was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, California, an area notorious for its gang problems. His father, determined to steer him clear of trouble, encouraged Joe's participation in sports and martial arts from a young age. This upbringing instilled in Joe the values of hard work and responsibility, which would serve him well throughout his life.
Growing up, Joe had a diverse array of role models within his immediate family, as his aunts and uncles were all professionals. His artistic nature was evident from an early age, and he was always an expressive and creative individual.
After high school, Joe's aspirations led him to pursue a career in the United States Air Force as a fighter pilot. He was accepted into the Air Force ROTC program at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA),where he underwent rigorous training to transition from civilian to military personnel. Despite his dedication to becoming a fighter pilot, Joe's artistic inclinations continued to simmer beneath the surface.
However, a sudden and unexpected twist altered the course of his career. Due to a loss of eyesight, Joe was no longer eligible to become a fighter pilot, as pilots require 20/20 vision. This setback prompted Joe to redirect his energies and discipline towards his artistic and expressive qualities.
Following a period of deliberation with his father, Joe decided to pursue his long-held passion for acting. He began studying the craft, eventually landing co-starring roles on the FX network's hit drama series "The Shield," as well as appearing in several national commercials. His breakthrough role came when he was cast in Nick Broomfield's controversial Iraq War docudrama "Battle for Haditha," which was filmed in Amman, Jordan.
