John's illustrious career in the performing arts commenced with his graduation from the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 1992. Subsequently, he relocated to Brisbane, where he flourished on stage, delivering captivating performances in numerous plays, including the critically acclaimed productions of Jacques and his Master, The Millfire, Bouncers, Cyrano de Bergerac, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Shaughraun, Sweet Pheobe, Julius Caesar, and The Misanthrope. His outstanding work in these productions earned him two State Theatre Awards, also known as Matilda Awards.
Following his successful stint in Brisbane, John returned to Sydney, where he continued to hone his craft, taking on various roles in an array of plays, such as Deathwatch, She Stoops to Conquer, Antony & Cleopatra, Troilus & Cressida, The Way of The World, Twelfth Night, Festen, and Romeo and Juliet. After dedicating 15 years to the world of theatre, John transitioned to television, landing a leading role in the $15 million production, 'Sea Patrol', which he played for an impressive five years. His character, "Charge", became a fan favorite worldwide, and the show was successfully sold to over 170 countries.
In addition to his extensive work in television, John has also made a significant impact in the film industry, starring in notable productions such as The Tenderhook, Inspector Gadget 2, Man Thing, Subdivision, and the AACTA Award-winning Red Dog. Furthermore, he has appeared in various television shows, including Home & Away, Wonderland, AllSaints, Stingers, and Water Rats, solidifying his status as a talented and versatile actor.
