John resides in Harlem, New York, a city he has come to call home after previously living in Atlanta, Georgia. However, his roots run deeper, tracing back to Stone Mountain, Georgia, where his journey began.
John's most recent credit includes notable roles in Luke Cage, Alex Wesley, and Mariah, where he worked alongside the talented Alfre Woodard as her assistant.
As a storyteller, John's mission is to uncover and share the truth, using his multifaceted talents as an actor, writer/poet, singer-songwriter, and mentor to bring the stories of those often overlooked and underrepresented to the forefront. He believes that storytelling serves as a powerful lens through which culture both heals and dreams, and that this process of storytelling is essential for exposing the truth and facing the darkness head-on, ultimately allowing us to live in the light.
John is a passionate advocate for the evolution of Black and Brown men, and the innocence and education of Black and Brown boys. He recognizes the pressing issues of toxic masculinity, patriarchy, and misogyny, and believes that these systemic realities require self-reflection, examination, and active change and allyship.
Through his own writing, John values vulnerability and authenticity as a means to dismantle the notion of "MAN-ness" and instead explore what it means to become better at being human. He does not claim to be an authority figure, but rather a person in the process of growth and self-improvement.
With love and light, John continues to share his powerful story and inspire others to do the same.
