At the age of 48, Kearney made his big-screen debut in the 1979 film "Dr. Jekyll's Dungeon of Death." This low-budget, martial arts horror movie, shot on the streets of San Francisco, has since gained notoriety as one of the worst films ever made. Despite its, shall we say, questionable quality, Kearney's early foray into the world of film was an important step in his development as an actor.
