Starting his career as a Video Game Writer/Designer, Platt worked on iconic arcade hits Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. He then ventured into feature film screenwriting, penning the cult-classic Lambada movie The Forbidden Dance.
Between screenplays, Platt transitioned to television, writing, producing, and directing shows for E! Entertainment Television and the Sci-Fi Channel. In 2001, he joined the creative team behind CBS's hit reality show Big Brother, creating the now-ubiquitous reality TV "flashback" technique.

Platt was instrumental in developing CBS's groundbreaking reality series Kid Nation, considered one of the best and most ambitious reality TV shows ever produced. He also produced Hulu's first original series If I Can Dream and Showrunning Bravo's Emmy Award-winning, multi-media dating series The Singles Project.
As a pioneer in online entertainment, Platt executive produced Hulu's first original series If I Can Dream, as well as Showrunning Bravo's Emmy Award-winning, multi-media dating series The Singles Project.
Platt's early love of playing Dungeons & Dragons even became an asset in 2023, when he was asked to produce over 60 hours of original content to launch the new "Dungeons & Dragons Adventures" FAST Channel for eOne and Hasbro.
