Jonathan Aris, son of the late British character actor Ben Aris, embarked on a journey that diverged from the family tradition of acting. Instead, he pursued his passion for art, studying painting at the prestigious Camberwell School of Art.
As he continued his academic endeavors, Jonathan also delved into languages, reading Russian and Italian at Cambridge University. It wasn't until he trained as an actor at the renowned Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London that he ultimately followed in his father's footsteps.
Throughout his career, Jonathan has been predominantly cast in character roles, with one notable exception being his portrayal of the private secretary to the (female) Prime Minister in the 2006 television series "The Amazing Mrs Pritchard".
In addition to his on-screen work, Jonathan has also honed his skills as a voice-over artist, lending his voice to numerous television commercials and narrating documentaries. His stage presence has been showcased in numerous productions, including his appearance in the original London cast of "Fame - the Musical".
