As a rambunctious youth, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery at the tender age of eight, when I first ventured into the world of acting. I was completely enamored with it and lived it up until my senior year of high school, when I decided to put my acting pursuits on hold to focus on my education.
However, my passion for acting never truly faded, and during the summer after my sophomore year at UCLA, I made the bold decision to dive back into professional acting full-time, much to the surprise of those around me. It was an exhilarating experience, filled with a sense of fulfillment, and I was fortunate enough to book consistently until the 2008 strike.
Taking advantage of the brief hiatus, I returned to school, kept my promises, and completed my degrees in engineering and geology, proudly donning my UCLA Bruins cap. I then landed a job as a consultant on geothermal energy projects all over the world, a career that spanned over a decade.
However, my wife's spontaneous suggestion on a random Tuesday sparked a newfound desire within me to revisit my first love - the craft of acting. Without hesitation, I began writing my own letter in my head, and thus, my journey back to Cientia Artis, the science of art, had begun.
With gratitude and excitement, I return to the world of acting, reinvigorated and hungry to pursue my passion once more.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Hernández
