Josef Leberer, a renowned Austrian physiotherapist, has spent over 35 years making a significant impact in the Formula 1 world. His remarkable journey began in 1988 when he joined the prestigious McLaren team, working closely with legendary drivers such as Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost.

Throughout his extensive career, Leberer was instrumental in enhancing drivers' physical and mental preparation, which directly contributed to their on-track performance. His collaboration with Senna was particularly notable, as their professional relationship evolved into a deep and lasting friendship. Leberer accompanied Senna to Williams in 1994, a testament to the strong bond they shared.

After Senna's tragic passing, Leberer joined Sauber Motorsport in 1997, where he continued to support a talented group of drivers, including Kimi Räikkönen, Sebastian Vettel, and Felipe Nasr.
