Joseph's early life was marked by a distinctive beginning, born in the bustling metropolis of New York City. After serving a four-year stint in the air force, he pursued his passion for the performing arts by enrolling at the prestigious HB Studios in New York. This marked the beginning of a significant chapter in his life, as he soon found himself employed at WATR radio in Waterbury, Connecticut, where he concurrently worked as a DJ, newsman, and television personality on the station's UHF TV outlet.
As fate would have it, a job offer as an associate producer for a small educational film company presented itself, and Joseph seized the opportunity to relocate to Los Angeles. However, his tenure in this role was short-lived, and he found himself unemployed just three months later. Undeterred, Joseph leveraged his Veterans' benefits to revisit his roots in acting, enrolling in the theatre department at Los Angeles City College.
Due to his age, Joseph was thrust into lead roles in a diverse range of productions, including drama, comedy, and musicals. He humorously attributed his casting in these roles to his maturity, stating, "Well, you have to have somewhere to be bad, Right?" Despite his initial reservations, Joseph's talent and dedication earned him recognition, and he was eventually discovered by a former movie casting director.
This discovery led to the securing of an agent and his first professional acting job, which marked the beginning of a prolific career in television. Joseph's on-camera work was complemented by hundreds of voice-over jobs for film and television productions, solidifying his position as a versatile and accomplished performer.
