Biography

Joseph Roth, a distinguished Austrian-Jewish journalist, writer, and novelist of considerable renown, is most notably celebrated for his seminal novel, "Radetzky March", a literary masterpiece that masterfully and poignantly captures the gradual decline and ultimate collapse of the once-mighty Austro-Hungarian Empire, a sprawling and complex entity that was, at one time, a dominant force in European politics and society.

Born on a chilly winter morning, February 2nd, 1894, in the picturesque town of Brody, situated in the heart of Galicia, a region that would later become an integral part of the Eastern European country of Ukraine.
