Person Biography:
Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, just south of Boston, Wingate left his hometown as a young adult to pursue his dreams in Los Angeles. He went on to develop an impressive career in television, film, and theatre.
Wingate's notable television credits include memorable guest-starring and recurring roles on primetime series such as FX's Justified, Sons of Anarchy, AMC's Fear the Walking Dead, ABC's The Rookie, Castle, and Showtime's Dexter. His most significant TV role to date is his upcoming part in Showtime's new series, Let the Right One In.
On the big screen, Wingate has appeared alongside notable actors such as Paul Bettany in Scott Stewart's Priest, Brad Pitt in Marc Forster's World War Z, and starred in the award-winning film Inverse. His most recent role was in the acclaimed film A Good Enough Day, opposite Trevor St. John.
Wingate has also returned to his roots in stage performance, appearing in the West Coast premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks' Father Comes Home From the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3) at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, alongside Sterling K. Brown and Michael McKean.
As a skilled and talented martial arts expert, Wingate teaches and mentors youth, sharing his personal experiences of self-growth and empowering students to go beyond their perceived potentials and limiting beliefs. He believes that vulnerability is strength and encourages his mentees to discover their abilities, confidence, and perseverance.
Wingate is married to his wife, Mauri, and they have a daughter. He resides in Los Angeles.
