Joshua Ritter's educational background is marked by his attendance at Ramapo College of New Jersey, where he earned a double Bachelor of Arts degree in Acting and Literature. During his time at the institution, he made significant contributions to the college's theater scene, taking on principal roles in nearly every main stage play produced, as well as several one-act plays. Furthermore, he played a crucial role in adapting Carl Sandburg's Rootabaga Stories for the stage and co-founded The Peanut Gallery, a sketch comedy troupe.
Upon graduating, Joshua began working professionally in theater throughout New Jersey and New York, with a notable collaboration with renowned playwright Sam Shepard in a showcase production of Hunted at the Public Theater in Manhattan in 2006. Following his move to South Florida in 2008, he diversified his career, transitioning into TV, film, theater, commercials, and voice-over work. He has since shared the screen with an impressive array of accomplished actors, including Matthew McConaughey, Zac Efron, John Leguizamo, Isla Fisher, and Bruce Campbell.
Joshua has also had the privilege of working with some of the most respected directors in the industry, including Louis Leterrier, Harmony Korine, Renny Harlin, and Dennie Gordon. As a musician, he writes, records, and performs original music with his wife, Karen Ellis-Ritter, under the moniker Modern Day Alchemy. The couple resides with their two children, identical twins Aidan and Noah.
