Julie Brown is a multifaceted American creative force, boasting a remarkable résumé that spans the realms of comedy, acting, writing, singing, and directing. Born and raised in Van Nuys, affectionately known as "The Valley", Julie began her journey as a stand-up comedian in the vibrant San Francisco club scene. Upon her return to Los Angeles, she swiftly transitioned into acting and writing, landing guest roles in popular sitcoms such as "Laverne & Shirley", "The Jeffersons", "Newhart", and "Quantum Leap".
As her career continued to flourish, Julie expanded her artistic repertoire by incorporating music into her act, releasing an EP featuring the hit singles "The Homecoming Queen's Got a Gun" and "Earth Girls Are Easy". The latter's success was further amplified when it evolved into a film she co-wrote and starred in alongside Geena Davis, Jeff Goldblum, and Jim Carrey. Additionally, she created and starred in the MTV comedy series "Just Say Julie" and the Showtime satire "Medusa: Dare to be Truthful", which earned her the Writers Guild award for Best Comedy Special.
