Július Satinský, a multifaceted Slovak personality, was born on August 20, 1941, in Bratislava, where he spent his childhood.
From an early age, his acting inclinations were evident, and in 1958, he won the recitation competition at the Hviezdoslav Kubín.
He later pursued studies in pedagogy at the Secondary Pedagogical School but never practiced as a teacher, as his true passion was acting.
Satinský studied dramaturgy at the Academy of Performing Arts from 1962 to 1966 and worked as a dramaturg from 1964 to 1967 at Czechoslovak Television in Bratislava.
In 1959, he formed a comic duo with Milan Lasic, and they performed in various authorial shows, including the Tatra revue and the Theater Studio (Divadlo na korze).
After 1968, during the period of normalization, Satinský faced obstacles with his acting partner Milan Lasic, and he was eventually banned from performing in Slovakia.
He worked for two years at the Czech Theater Večerní Brno and from 1972 to 1978 at the New Stage in Bratislava.
In 1978, he joined the New Stage, where he continued to work alongside Milan Lasic.
Satinský was also a signatory of Anticharta.
As a creative personality, he developed his talent as the author of numerous scenes, dialogues, and feature programs.
He is also the author of several books on his memories of Bratislava, popular books for children, and a contributor to various newspapers and magazines.
One of his most popular works was the cabaret program "Someone is Behind the Door," in which he performed with Milan Lasic and various guests.
Satinský's influence extended beyond his own work, as he inspired others to explore current topics and learn about the "features of Slovaks."
He was married twice, first to dancer and translator Oľga Lajdová, who passed away in 1985, and then to MUDr. Viera Satinska, with whom he had two children, Lucia and John.
In recognition of his contributions, the Slovak Astronomical Society named the planet 15946 Satinský in his honor.
Throughout his career, Satinský received numerous awards, including the title of Merited Artist in 1989, the Crystal Wing for his life's work in 1997, and the Medal of Merit of the 1st degree in memoriam in 2003.
