Justin "Jason" Roberts was born with a flair for entertainment, showcasing his talents at family gatherings and captivating his classmates throughout his school years. His innate ability to command attention and mesmerize his audience was evident to everyone who knew him, including his family, friends, and acquaintances, who were convinced that he would one day make it big on television.
As a die-hard fan of professional wrestling, Justin began his career as a ring announcer at the tender age of 16. He landed a gig with PWI in his hometown of Chicago, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience over the course of two years. This stint not only helped him build confidence but also provided him with a solid foundation to launch his career.
In 1998, Justin made the bold decision to leave Chicago and attend The University of Arizona, where he pursued a degree in Media Arts and Communications. During his time at university, he continued to work with various independent pro-wrestling organizations, traveling across the country to gain exposure, experience, and new opportunities. He had the privilege of working alongside some of the biggest names in the industry, further cementing his reputation as a talented and dedicated ring announcer.
In 2000, Justin landed a backup role announcing for FX's Toughman Contest, working alongside the contest's founder, Art Dore. This experience helped him refine his skills and build his reputation, paving the way for his future success. Two years later, in June 2002, Justin received two tryouts as a ring announcer for World Wrestling Entertainment, and he was subsequently hired as "Jason Roberts" in September of the same year.
Since then, Justin has worked tirelessly as a ring announcer for televised and non-televised events around the world, solidifying his position as one of the most respected and sought-after ring announcers in the industry. In addition to his work in professional wrestling, Justin has also ventured into acting, making appearances on the Jerry Springer show and in films such as "Soul Food".
