Biography

Mary Kathleen Keenan, a notable individual, came into the world on July 11, 1960, in the vibrant city of Columbus, Ohio. As the second child of Roy Keenan, a distinguished biochemist, and Jeanine Atwood Keenan, a multifaceted poet and artist, Mary Kathleen was born with a rich cultural heritage.

Her older sister, Kristin Keenan, who was merely 11 months older, affectionately bestowed upon her the endearing nickname Kakii, a moniker that would stick with her throughout her life.

Kakii's childhood was marked by a series of relocations, as her family packed up their belongings and set off on a new adventure, leaving behind the familiar surroundings of Columbus, Ohio, and making their way to Boston, Ohio, before finally settling outside of San Antonio, where her parents would go on to build a house that would become their home.

As a result of this nomadic lifestyle, Kakii's life was shaped by a constant sense of change and uncertainty, forcing her to adapt to new environments, make new friends, and adjust to new routines. This experience had a profound impact on her, influencing her perspective and worldview in profound and lasting ways.

Kakii's educational journey commenced after she had completed her high school studies, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her life. She made the decision to relocate to the vibrant city of Austin, where she took up residence with her sister, assuming the role of roommate. It was during this time that she had the opportunity to cross paths with her future spouse, Clancy John Mullen, who resided just a short distance away, mere houses separating their dwellings.

Kakii's life took a significant turn on December 9th, 1987, as she joyfully welcomed her first child, Colleen Jessica Mullen, into the world. This milestone marked the beginning of her journey as a mother, and two years later, on July 15th, 1991, she was overjoyed to welcome her second daughter, Tracy Kathleen Keenan, further solidifying her role as a devoted and loving mother.

After taking a break from her studies, Kakii returned to the University of Texas, where she had the opportunity to take a film class under the expert guidance of the renowned filmmaker Steve Mims. This experience not only honed her skills in filmmaking but also provided her with valuable insights into the art of storytelling and the technical aspects of the craft.

As a result of her burgeoning passion, she embarked on a collaborative endeavour with Mims, co-starring in the film "The Perfect Specimen" in the year 1999, in addition to appearing in numerous commercials for well-known entities such as Relaxthe Back, Schlotsky's Deli, and Cookie Bouquet.

Throughout the trajectory of her life, Kakii has been propelled by an innate creative drive, and the cumulative effect of her experiences has evolved her into a multidimensional individual, characterized by a rich tapestry of diverse qualities and attributes that have collectively contributed to the person she is today.
