Karin Konoval has had a prolific career in television and film, appearing in numerous guest starring roles and supporting lead roles in various feature films. Notably, she played the iconic role of "Maurice" the orangutan in the Planet of the Apes trilogy, including Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011),Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014),and War for the Planet of the Apes (2017).
In addition to her film work, Karin has received critical acclaim for her performances on stage. She was awarded the Philip Borsos award for her lead role in the feature Cable Beach (2004) and has won numerous awards for her work in theatre, taking on lead roles in contemporary classics and a wide range of musicals.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Karin relocated to Canada with her family at a young age and grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. She began her training as a dancer, eventually graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre history. Karin then moved to Vancouver, British Columbia to pursue a career in acting.
