Katharine Hope McPhee Foster is a multifaceted American artist, celebrated for her remarkable accomplishments as a singer-songwriter and actress. Her remarkable journey began in May 2006, when she emerged as the runner-up on the fifth season of the popular reality television show American Idol.
McPhee's debut album, self-titled and released on RCA Records on January 30, 2007, garnered immense success, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 chart, with sales of 381,000 copies as of December 2010. The album's first single, "Over It", became a Pop Top 30 hit and was certified gold in 2008.
