Kazu's early life in Hokkaido, Japan, was marked by his grandparents' care, as his parents were not present. This period of his life was filled with creative pursuits, inspired by nature, traditional Japanese dance, and theatre experiences. His first play was at the age of 7, where he took on the role of Lord Mito in the Japanese folk tale MITO KOMON.
As he grew older, Kazu's interest in Japanese opera and dance led him to learn from authentic Japanese groups related to the Kabuki clan. However, his life took a dramatic turn when his grandfather passed away at the age of 12, and he moved to Sapporo to live with his father.
Tragedy struck again when Kazu was 13, as he suffered from chronic heart attacks at a rare age. His doctor warned his grandmother that he wouldn't live to see his 20s. In response, Kazu began seeking a spiritual path and joined the Catholic Brotherhood of Marian, where he continued his education.
Despite his physical limitations, Kazu's thirst for knowledge drove him to pursue higher education in Tokyo, where he studied Law and global politics. He spent time abroad, studying the cultures and histories of different countries.
His professors expected him to become a lawyer and eventually a politician in Japan, but Kazu had other plans. At the age of 18, he converted to Buddhism and began working with various performers in Tokyo. He combined his traditional dance opera background with modern acts and joined the famous comedy clan "Hayashiya," performing on their stages.
After graduating, Kazu moved to Los Angeles to pursue a graduate degree, but he faced numerous difficulties. He eventually shifted his focus to helping a struggling business in Beverly Hills. However, after 9/11, the poor economy took a toll on the business, and Kazu was forced to sell.
Despite the setbacks, Kazu found a new opportunity to work in the entertainment industry with old friends from Japan. He discovered a passion for acting again, but his rich Japanese acting background did not translate to success in Hollywood. He found it easier to work as a comedic actor, and his struggles represent the challenges many Asian actors face in the industry.
At the age of 27, Kazu reunited with his biological mother after a lifetime of separation. The encounter was facilitated by good friends in Los Angeles, and it was a heartwarming moment for Kazu to finally meet the woman he had never known.
