Keller Wortham, also known as James Keller Wortham, is a bilingual actor who has made a name for himself in television programs across the United States, Central, and South America. Born in the United States, Wortham's childhood was marked by frequent moves due to his father's military medical career.
Growing up, Wortham was heavily involved in the performing arts, but he eventually decided to pursue a career in medicine, just like his father. He completed his pre-med requirements at Duke University, where he also majored in Spanish Literature. Wortham then spent two years in Madrid, Spain, studying art history and teaching at an international school. He attended Georgetown University for medical school and completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.
After finishing his medical training in 2004, Wortham moved to Los Angeles to reconnect with his artistic side and pursue a career in film and television. Since then, he has been living and working as both an actor and a physician. Wortham's early foray into film was the provocative movie "Now and Later," which addressed violence and sexuality in American society. He has also appeared on several TV shows, including iCarly, Westworld, and Covert Affairs, and has worked as a medical consultant and host on TV programs such as "Love Handles," "What Happens Next," "Fight Science," and "Taboo."
Wortham's fluency in Spanish has been instrumental in his success in the Latin TV market. He lived in Bogota, Colombia, for three years, where he starred in the highly successful Colombian telenovela "Alla Te Espero," earning a Best Actor nomination. Wortham has also worked as a series regular on multiple Spanish-language TV shows for FOX and NBC/Telemundo, including "El Capo," "Bajo El Mismo Cielo," and "Sangre de mi Tierra."
In the United States, Wortham is perhaps best known for his portrayal of the obnoxious and arrogant telenovela star, Esteban Santiago, on the award-winning TV show "Jane the Virgin."
