Kelly Reno, a talented former juvenile actor, came into the world on June 19, 1966, in Pueblo, Colorado, where his early life was shaped by his parents' occupation as cattle ranchers. This upbringing would later influence his connection to the great outdoors, which would be reflected in his future performances. Little did anyone know that this young boy would be destined for stardom at the tender age of 13, when he was handpicked to play the role of Alec Ramsey, a young boy who finds himself stranded on a deserted island alongside a horse, in the 1979 film adaptation of Walter Farley's beloved novel, The Black Stallion.
The pivotal performance in this particular film served as a catalyst for Reno's sudden rise to fame, and he subsequently reprised his role in the 1983 cinematic adaptation of The Black Stallion Returns, sharing the screen with Vincent Spano.
Tragically, Reno's burgeoning acting career was abruptly and prematurely terminated when the pickup truck he was operating was involved in a catastrophic collision with a semi-truck. The severity of his injuries and the prolonged recovery period that ensued ultimately led to the cessation of his acting career.
