Biography

Kim Woo Bin's journey into the world of entertainment began with a desire to become a model during his high school days, with little intention of pursuing an acting career. As his modeling career gained momentum, he started receiving offers to star in commercials, which led to the realization that basic acting skills were required. This prompted him to take acting classes, and it was during this time that he met his acting teacher, Won-joo Moon, who would become his role model and inspire him to fall in love with the acting profession.

Kim Woo Bin made his acting debut in the TV series "White Christmas," where he played the character of Mad Mireu, a red-haired genius prankster and bully of bullies. His portrayal of the character quickly made him an audience favorite. Following his success in "White Christmas," he, along with two other model-turned-actors, transitioned to the sitcom "Vampire Idol," in which he played the lovable vampire Gabri Ratis, who spent his life believing he was ugly, only to discover his newfound appeal to girls and women upon moving to Earth.

Initially, "Vampire Idol" was intended to have 120 episodes, but unfortunately, it failed to attract viewers and was abruptly ended after 79 episodes. Kim Woo Bin then went on to star in the drama "A Gentleman's Dignity," where he played a problematic high school kid with a crush on his sociology teacher. Although his character was initially meant to be small, his talent shone through, and the writer, Eun-sook Kim, wrote more material for him, ultimately expanding his role.

A similar situation occurred with the drama "School 2013," where Kim Woo Bin was initially meant to have a supporting role, but his instant charm and chemistry with co-star Jong-suk Lee earned him a much bigger part. His acting in this drama was often described as brave, as he was required to perform many emotional scenes, including crying, which earned him widespread recognition.

Kim Woo Bin is set to star in the lead role of "Friend 2," the sequel to the 2001 film "Friend," which he has stated is his favorite movie and knows all the quotes by heart. He will also appear in the TV series "Heirs" (Inheritors),written by Eun-sook Kim, who has referred to him as "her muse." In this drama, he will play the role of Choi Young Do, a rich, spoiled, and genius character who seeks revenge against his childhood friend by stealing his girlfriend.

Throughout his career, Kim Woo Bin has been described as a "charismatic actor" in Korean media, a testament to his undeniable talent and charm.
