Krishnan Guru-Murthy is a renowned British journalist and television presenter, who has been a main anchor of Channel 4 News since 1998.
As a prominent news anchor, he has reported and presented extensive coverage of major news events, including the Omagh bombing in 1998, the September 11th attacks in 2001, the Iraq War in 2003, and the Mumbai attacks in 2008.
In addition to his news coverage, Guru-Murthy has also anchored several programs, including News at Noon and Powerhouse, and has presented a range of special political programming, such as the Ask the Chancellors debate during the 2010 election campaign and How to Save a Hundred Billion Pounds.
Before joining Channel 4, Guru-Murthy spent ten years at the BBC, where he presented, reported, and produced various programs, including Newsnight, Newsround, and the live reporting team for The Funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales.
Guru-Murthy's broadcasting career began in his gap year before attending Oxford University, when he appeared on BBC 2's youth discussion program Open to Question, leading to him taking over as the program's presenter. He went on to present other youth programs, such as Reportage.
In addition to his work in news and current affairs, Guru-Murthy has also presented a range of successful series and one-off programs for Channel 4's Science department, including The Operation: Surgery Live, The Autopsy, Britain's Deadliest Addictions, and Going Cold Turkey.
He has also presented programs for the Current Affairs department, including The TV Show and Dispatches, and has reported for various newspapers. Furthermore, Guru-Murthy has appeared in a variety of entertainment and comedy programs, including 8 out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News for You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and Bremner, Bird and Fortune.
Additionally, he has presented The National Lottery Live and has written for various newspapers.
