Krysta Anne Rodriguez is an American actress and singer born on July 23, 1984. She is best known for her roles in various TV series and films, including Smash, Trial & Error, Quantico, and Daybreak.
Growing up in Orange County, California, Rodriguez began taking dance lessons at 13 and later started taking singing and acting lessons. She was a cast member of the Christian TV show Colby's Clubhouse from 1995 to 2000 and attended Orange County High School of the Arts.
Rodriguez made her Broadway debut in the 2005 jukebox musical Good Vibrations and later played roles in A Chorus Line, Spring Awakening, and In the Heights. She originated the role of Wednesday Addams in the world premiere of The Addams Family and made her feature film debut in The Virginity Hit.
Rodriguez has also appeared in various TV shows, including Gossip Girl, Iceland, and Shadow of Fear. She joined the cast of Smash for its second season and played the lead in First Date the Musical. In 2015, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and started a blog, ChemoCouture.com, to document her journey and share fashion, beauty, and wellness tips.
In 2015, Rodriguez played a multi-episode arc in Chasing Life and guest-starred in Inside Amy Schumer and The Mysteries of Laura. She starred in the film My Bakery in Brooklyn and returned to Broadway in the revival of Spring Awakening.
Rodriguez has also appeared in the Off-Broadway production of What We're Up Against and played roles in Trial & Error and Quantico. She currently stars as Ms. Crumble in the Netflix series Daybreak.
