Lara, a talented individual, was born and raised in Essex, UK. Her passion for drama was nurtured through her involvement with the National Youth Music Theatre from 1994 to 1998, where she honed her skills and laid the foundation for a successful career in the performing arts. This early exposure ultimately led to her attainment of a BA Honours degree in Theatre, a testament to her dedication and perseverance.
As her theatre career progressed, Lara received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for her captivating portrayal of "Lucille Frank" in Rob Ashford's production of "Parade" at The Donmar Warehouse. Her outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, and she was subsequently invited to reprise her role at The Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, opposite the talented T.R. Knight, who is best known for his role in the popular television series Grey's Anatomy.
Lara's impressive theatre credits have been complemented by her successful transition to screen acting. She made her television debut in 2008, playing the pivotal role of "Isabella of Gisbourne" in the BBC prime-time show Robin Hood, which has garnered a massive following worldwide and is broadcast on BBC America every Saturday evening at 8/9c. Moreover, she has recently completed filming The Special Relationship, a forthcoming movie directed by Peter Morgan, which boasts an all-star cast featuring Michael Sheen and Dennis Quaid.
