From his humble beginnings as a performer on stage, television, and film, to his subsequent transition into the world of writing, this individual's career has been marked by a remarkable trajectory. Beginning in 1969, he has written, directed, and/or produced hundreds of live shows for the Disney Company, at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, and Tokyo DisneySea, as well as creating touring shows for the Disney Company.
As a creative force, he has opened seven non-Disney theme parks in Japan, but ultimately returned to the Disney fold as Creative Director for the creation of Tokyo DisneySea in 2001. His impressive repertoire also includes directing six editions of Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice, and legitimate theater productions in the United States, Germany, and Japan.
In addition to his impressive list of credits, this individual is also the author of "Film Choreographers and Dance Directors" (McFarland) and two bio-bibliographies for Greenwood Press, focusing on the lives and careers of Fred Astaire and Betty Grable.
Furthermore, in 1998, he founded the Academy of Dance in Film, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the art of film dance and choreography. He has also held positions as an Associate Professor at California State University, Long Beach, the University of Southern California, and other California universities, lecturing on the subject of dance in film.
Most recently, he provided audio commentary for the newly released Warner Bros. "Astaire and Rogers" DVD set, featuring the classic film "Top Hat".
