Thomas was born in Brooklyn, New York, but later relocated to Los Angeles, California, where he currently resides.
At the tender age of 10, Thomas made his Broadway debut in 2003, taking on the iconic role of Young Simba in the esteemed Broadway production of The Lion King, which premiered in 1994. Two years later, in 2004, he appeared as Jackie Thibodeaux in the original Broadway cast of Tony Kushner's thought-provoking drama, Caroline, or Change. During the show's five-month run, Thomas also toured with the company, performing in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Thomas's impressive Broadway resume also includes a stint in the musical adaptation of Alice Walker's The Color Purple, which premiered in 1985. The talented young actor's theatrical experience continued to flourish as he took on new roles, including appearances in August Rush (2007),where he starred alongside Robin Williams and Terrence Howard, and The Backyardigans (2004),in which he lent his voice to the character of Tyrone.
In addition to his film and television work, Thomas has also made guest appearances on popular shows such as Jack's Big Music Show (2005) and Just Jordan (2007). He has also had the opportunity to showcase his talents in the iCarly (2007) episode "iCarly Saves TV" and the Naked Brothers Band (2007) Christmas special. Most notably, Thomas has taken on the role of André in the Nickelodeon series Victorious (2010),which premiered on March 27, 2010.
