Leon's impressive repertoire boasts an array of credits, including prestigious roles on the iconic Broadway stage, as well as notable appearances in film and television productions. Furthermore, his artistic reach extends to the Vietnamese entertainment industry, where he has secured significant roles in popular TV series and feature films, solidifying his status as a respected and accomplished performer.
Leon's artistic foundation, having been solidly established, led him to embark on a new, long-held aspiration: writing and directing. This bold endeavour resulted in the creation of his critically acclaimed short film, Dawn, which he not only wrote but also directed. The widespread recognition garnered by Dawn was nothing short of phenomenal, with the film screening at over 30 international film festivals, earning a plethora of prestigious awards, including the Excellence in Fiction Short Filmmaking Award at the Asian American International Film Festival, the Best Short Film Award at the Vancouver International Film Festival, and the Best LGBT Short Film Award at the YXINE Film Festival, to name but a few.
Leon's subsequent short film, titled "Talking to My Mother", embarked on its festival circuit journey in the year 2015, garnering a plethora of accolades along the way. Among the numerous awards and recognitions bestowed upon the film, it is worth noting that it took home the prestigious Best Drama Award, Best Director Award, Best Actor Award, and Best Original Score Award at the esteemed Asians on Film Festival.
