Born and raised in Port Elgin, Ontario, Liam attended Saugeen District Secondary School, where he excelled in track and field, earning the title of 2-time Canadian National Jr. Champion in the 400-meter event and representing Canada on the National Jr. Team.
Liam's academic pursuits took him to the University of Iowa for two years, followed by a transfer to the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he was a full-scholarship athlete at both institutions.
Upon graduating, Liam returned to Toronto, Canada, and began a brief stint on Bay Street as a licensed Investment Advisor, but his passion for the entertainment industry soon led him to leave the field after only eighteen months to pursue a career in acting.
