Lisa Hartman is a talented American actress and singer, born in Houston, Texas. Her most notable role was as Tabitha Stephens in the short-lived fantasy sitcom "Tabitha" from 1977 to 1978. In the series, Tabitha, a young witch, worked as a production assistant at a television station, navigating supernatural events and trying to start her career.
Before her acting career, Hartman began her professional singing career in 1976 with the release of her self-titled studio album "Lisa Hartman". She went on to release the studio albums "Hold On" in 1979, "Letterock" in 1983, and "Til My Heart Stops" in 1987. Although her albums were not commercially successful, she collaborated with successful songwriters and producers.
Hartman's single "If Love Must Go" in 1982 gained popularity due to its use in television shows. She experienced a brief career comeback with the duet "When I Said I Do" in 1999, sung with her husband Clint Black. The song reached the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and the Canadian RPM Country Tracks chart.
Hartman also appeared in the slasher film "Deadly Blessing" in 1981, playing the villain Faith Stohler. The film was initially poorly received but has gained a minor following among fans of vintage horror films.
In 1982, Hartman joined the cast of the soap opera "Knots Landing" and portrayed the professional singer Ciji Dunne. Her character was murdered off-screen, leading to a murder mystery storyline with several suspects. Hartman's departure from the series was met with backlash from viewers, but she later introduced a new character, Cathy Geary, who impersonated the deceased Ciji as part of a conspiracy.
Hartman also appeared in the sex comedy "Where the Boys Are '84" in 1984, playing Jennie Cooper, a vacationing college student. She performed the song "Where the Boys Are" for the film's soundtrack album.
Throughout the late 1980s and the entire 1990s, Hartman regularly appeared in television films. She starred in the drama film "Roses Are for the Rich" in 1987, playing a miner's daughter seeking revenge against a businessman.
In 1992, Hartman was cast in the short-lived soap opera "2000 Malibu Road", playing Jade O'Keefe, a retired prostitute trying to rebuild her life. The series only lasted for six episodes, leaving several unresolved cliffhangers.
In 2020, Hartman and her husband Clint Black appeared on the fourth season of "The Masked Singer" under the guise of the "Snow Owls". They competed as the series' first duet competitors, performing for seven episodes before being eliminated. This has been Hartman's last notable television appearance aside from an appearance on "Talking in Circles with Clint Black" in 2021.
