Lisha Hackney, a talented American actress, was born Earlisha Hackney in Jacksonville, Texas. Growing up in the rural town of Frankston, Texas, she developed a strong connection with the natural world, often spending her childhood days riding four-wheelers and engaging in imaginative play amidst the deep Piney Woods.
As a child, Lisha's early performances began in beauty pageants, where she quickly discovered her passion for the arts. She was soon exposed to various mediums to nurture her talents, including music, dance, and theater. Upon entering public school, she was selected to join the leadership organization PAL in elementary school, later becoming the student body president in middle school, and ultimately graduating in the top 5% of her high school class.
Throughout her academic career, Lisha remained committed to her love of performing, participating in various extracurricular activities such as sports, school clubs, UIL competitions, and academic organizations. After completing high school, she enrolled at Baylor University, where she initially pursued a career in law due to her passion for public speaking.
However, her experiences with Communities in Schools and her work with economically disadvantaged youth sparked a desire to use her voice to advocate for those in need. It was during her time at Baylor University, where she studied Psychology and Criminal Justice, that she discovered her interest in acting through her theater, Greek mythology, and Psychology of acting classes.
Upon receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree, Lisha decided to pursue a career in acting, rather than attending law school. Her talent and dedication were soon recognized, as she won the best actress award for her role as Ani in the short film Moment After That (2019) at the Rack Focus Film Festival. She made her feature film debut as Clarissa in the critically acclaimed film Miss Juneteenth (2020),alongside Nicole Beharie.
