Biography

Lorin McCraley's life began in Kingman, Arizona, a city that would serve as the starting point for a childhood marked by frequent relocations across the American Southwest. Eventually, he settled in Cottonwood, Arizona, where he excelled in multiple sports at Mingus Union High School, earning All-Conference honors in both football and baseball.

A football scholarship took him to Scottsdale Community College, where an unexpected fistfight and subsequent broken hand led to a transformative experience. The injury forced him to miss his sophomore season, but it also inadvertently led him to discover his passion for acting. This newfound interest would eventually guide him towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas.

At Ottawa, Lorin not only honed his acting skills but also demonstrated his athleticism by serving as the captain of the football team and earning All-KCAC honors. His academic and athletic accomplishments caught the attention of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, which offered him a spot in their prestigious M.F.A. professional acting program. However, Lorin decided to forgo the program to pursue his acting dreams in Los Angeles.

The early days of his LA career were marked by a series of unexpected events. He received his SAG card after being cast as an extra in the television show "Double Rush" and then, in a surprising turn of events, he was fired by the 1st AD. Despite this setback, the director, Michael Lembeck, intervened on his behalf, and Lorin was given his first line on television: "All right Rock-n-Roll!" This pivotal moment also earned him his coveted SAG card.

Years of honing his craft on stage led Lorin to carve out a successful career in Hollywood, where he has established himself as a versatile actor capable of playing a wide range of roles. His unique blend of acting abilities and writing skills has also enabled him to collaborate with his writing partner, Edward Cieplinski, on several screenplays, including "Boone Helm Kentucky Cannibal," "Jersey City German Shepherd," and "Most Popular Corpse," which are currently in various stages of development.
