Biography

Lucinda Coxon is a highly acclaimed and accomplished writer for film, television, and stage, with a wide range of impressive credits to her name.

Her feature screenplays include The Danish Girl, a critically acclaimed film starring Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander, as well as Wild Target, which boasts an all-star cast including Bill Nighy, Emily Blunt, and Rupert Grint. She also wrote The Heart of Me, a romantic drama starring Helena Bonham Carter, Olivia Williams, and Paul Bettany.

In addition to her work on film, Coxon has collaborated with acclaimed director Guillermo Del Toro on Crimson Peak, and has recently adapted Sarah Waters' novel The Little Stranger for the big screen, with Lenny Abrahamson set to direct.

On the small screen, Coxon's four-part adaptation of Michael Faber's novel The Crimson Petal and the White, starring Romola Garai and Chris O'Dowd, was met with critical acclaim on BBC2 and received a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Miniseries.

Her stage plays have also been widely praised, including What Are They Like?, Herding Cats, Happy Now?, Nostalgia and Vesuvius, The Eternal Not, Wishbones, Waiting at the Water's Edge, and Improbabilities. She has received numerous awards and nominations for her work, including the Writers Guild of Great Britain's Best Play Award and nominations for the Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Awards.

Coxon is currently adapting Ian McEwan's Sweet Tooth for Working Title Films, and is also working on a new play for the National Theatre.
