Lucita Soriano was born on February 23, 1941, in Taguig, Philippines, to Eugenio Adriano and Elvira Jamon Soriano. She spent her early years in Pateros and completed her high school education at Rizal High School.
Soriano's dream was to become a movie star, and she would often cut classes to visit movie studios, hoping to meet her favorite stars. Her big break came when she auditioned for the film "I Believe," and she was chosen from among a thousand aspirants for a screen test.
She was signed under Premier Productions and was given the stage name Lucita, inspired by movie actress Lucita Goyena. Her early films were critically acclaimed, including "Macho Dancer," "Bayan Ko, Kapit sa Patalim," and "Curacha: Ang Babaeng Walang Pahinga."
As a breadwinner of the family, Soriano accepted any role that would be offered to her, including those that required her to wear bikinis. She also appeared on television, starring in shows such as "Maalaala Mo Kaya," "Valiente," and "Familia Zaragoza."
Soriano's personal life was marked by a long-term relationship with actor Boy Garcia, with whom she had two sons, Garry Boy and Marco Polo. The couple eventually separated, but Soriano's sons remained a priority for her. After Garcia's passing in 1997, Soriano remarried in 2009 to Michael Charles Mayr, a retired civil engineer.
Throughout her career, Soriano remained committed to her craft, taking on a wide range of roles and appearing in numerous films and television shows. She continued to work in the entertainment industry until her passing.
