Maia, a talented Kenyan musician and filmmaker, has gained widespread recognition as the charismatic front-woman of the high-energy band Maia & The Big Sky.

Maia's feature film debut, The Letter, is a testament to her multifaceted talents, as she co-directed and produced the project alongside her husband, Christopher King.

In addition to her impressive musical endeavors, Maia has also made a significant impact in the realm of humanitarian work. In 2013, she was appointed as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Maia's artistic accomplishments have been consistently recognized and rewarded. In 2009, she received an African Movie Academy Award for her powerful song, 'Uko Wapi'.
