Mamoru Oshii, a renowned Japanese filmmaker, television director, and screenwriter, has garnered widespread recognition for his thought-provoking and philosophy-driven storytelling approaches. His extensive repertoire of anime masterpieces includes the iconic series Urusei Yatsura, which aired from 1981 to 1984, as well as the critically acclaimed films Angel's Egg (1985),Patlabor: The Movie (1989),Ghost in the Shell (1995),and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004).
Notably, Oshii was initially approached to collaborate on the ambitious project The Animatrix, but unfortunately, he was unable to participate due to his commitments to the production of Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence.
