Marcin Dorocinski, a Polish film, television, and stage actor, was born on June 22, 1973, in Milanowek, near Warsaw. His father was a smith, and his mother was a housewife, and he has three brothers. Growing up, Marcin dreamed of becoming a professional football player, but a severe leg injury in his youth forced him to abandon his aspirations.
Instead, he attended the vocational school in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, where his history teacher recognized his acting abilities and encouraged him to pursue a career in acting. In 1993, Marcin enrolled in the Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy, graduating in 1997 and subsequently winning a position at the Dramatic Theatre in Warsaw.
Marcin made his film debut in Andrzej Zulawski's "The Shaman" in 1995, followed by minor roles in TV and films. His breakthrough role came in 2005 when he played Slawomir Desperski in the film and cult television series "Pitbull." This led to a string of notable roles, including "We are all Christs" (2006),"Luiza's Garden" (2008),"OFFsiders" (2008),"Reverse" (2009),"Rose" (2011),and "Manhunt" (2012).
Marcin has also gained recognition for his association with independent movies and has been widely regarded as one of the most talented and respected Polish actors. He has received numerous awards and nominations, including the Zbyszek Cybulski's Award for Best Young Polish Actor (2005),Polish Eagles nomination for Best Actor (2008),and Golden Lions Award for Best Supporting Actor (2009) and Best Actor in a Leading Role (2011).
In addition to his film and television work, Marcin has also made his international debut in Per Fly's film "The woman that dreamed about a man" released in 2010. He has also starred in the BBC production "Spies of Warsaw" alongside David Tennant and the British Channel 4 miniseries "Run." Recent projects include the films "Love," "7 days," and "Angel," slated for release in 2013 and 2014.
Marcin keeps a low profile, focusing on his family, including his wife and three children. He is an avid fan of U2 and Red Hot Chili Peppers, enjoys triathlon, car and motor racing, and walking his dog.
