Person Biography:
Born and raised in his native province, the individual's connection to the art world began with his role as a declaimer on the local radio station. After completing his high school studies in 1955, he moved to Havana to pursue a degree in law, but only managed to finish his first year. He made his debut on the amateur program "La corte suprema del arte", where he quickly rose to the category of Rising Star.
In 1959, he began working for the Cuban National Circuit, now known as Radio Rebelde, in dramatic spaces. Until 1965, he was part of the Guernica Theater Group at the National Theater, where he played leading roles in productions such as "Bodas de sangre" by García Lorca, "Las impuras" by Miguel de Carrión, and "Las vacas gordas" by Abelardo Estorino.
On television, he has had a long and successful career, acting in teleteatros, comedies, adventures, and serials. His iconic character, Sargento Arencibia, in the program "San Nicolás del Peladero", is still remembered fondly by the audience. In 1964, he made his film debut with the leading role in "La decisión", directed by José Massip.
