Mark, a renowned thespian, was born in 1955 in the vibrant city of Birmingham. He embarked on his theatrical journey by training at Stratford College of Further Education under the guidance of Gordon Vallins. However, his educational pursuits were cut short when he left Birmingham School of Speech and Drama after just one year to tour with the esteemed Marius Goring in 1974.
Mark's early career saw him join the esteemed Oxford Playhouse under the direction of Nick Kent, followed by stints at the Derby Playhouse with Mark Woolgar and the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry. After gaining valuable experience with repertory companies, Mark ventured into the world of fringe theatre in London before transitioning to film work.
Mark's personal life is filled with love and creativity. He is married to Annie and resides in the picturesque county of Sussex. His eldest son, James, has followed in his father's footsteps and is a successful film producer. Mark's middle son, Chris, is the lead guitarist of the acclaimed post-rock band Flies Are Spies From Hell, while his youngest son, Tom, has pursued a career in construction as a builder.
