Mark Dexter is a renowned British actor, who has honed his craft through classical training at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. His early triumphs were on stage, particularly with two high-profile productions of Tennessee Williams' plays, starting with Sam Mendes' 1995 Olivier Award-winning production of The Glass Menagerie at the Donmar Warehouse, where he portrayed the iconic role of The Gentleman Caller.
As his career progressed, Dexter transitioned primarily to film and television, boasting an extensive list of British TV credits. He is perhaps most notable in his home country for his portrayal of Timothy Gray in the 1950s-set ITV crime drama The Bletchley Circle, opposite his screen wife Anna Maxwell Martin, and for his cunning Sun Hill CPS lawyer Matt Hinckley in ITV's The Bill, a role he played from 2006-2007.
Between October 2008 and January 2009, Dexter made regular appearances in America on NBC, playing the role of Samuel Tuffley in eight episodes of the major 12-part mini-series Crusoe.
