Mark's early life in Hamilton, Ontario, was marked by his involvement in school plays, where he had the opportunity to take on iconic roles such as Macbeth and Julius Caesar. Upon completing his education, he followed in his father's footsteps, working in the pits, but it wasn't long before he grew restless and disillusioned with his life in Britain. The desire to travel and explore new horizons soon became overwhelming, prompting him to save his earnings from his job as a timber porter and make the bold decision to venture to Australia.
In the Land Down Under, Mark joined a small theatrical touring company, where he had the chance to hone his craft by performing potted versions of Shakespearean classics. His time in Australia was also marked by appearances in four films, including the notable production 'Ned Kelly,' starring the legendary Mick Jagger. However, when his funds ran low, Mark found himself in a precarious situation, which led him to take up boxing as a means of making ends meet. Unfortunately, this endeavor resulted in a broken nose, which ultimately led to a surgical procedure to reshape his nose.
After his stint in Australia, Mark returned to Britain, where he worked a series of odd jobs to make a living. He toiled in the road repair industry, worked in a bookmakers, and even took on small acting roles in various television series, including 'Sam,' 'The Borrowers,' 'Stramgers,' and 'Bullman.' His first appearance on the popular television program 'Taggert' occurred in 1983, in an episode titled 'Killer.'
In his free time, Mark enjoys a variety of hobbies, including fishing, gardening, and breeding butterflies.
