Marsai Martin, a rising star in the making, has already made a significant impact in the entertainment industry at a remarkably young age. Her journey began when she landed her first national commercial at just five years old, and soon after, she relocated to Los Angeles, where she was cast as Diane Johnson on the ABC Emmy-nominated hit comedy Black-ish in 2014.
As a member of the show's talented cast, Martin has stolen the hearts of viewers with her hilarious and witty performances, earning her a total of nine NAACP Image Awards and three BET Awards. Her impressive work on Black-ish has not only showcased her comedic talents but also demonstrated her ability to captivate audiences of all ages.
At the tender age of 10, Martin conceptualized and pitched a movie idea to Will Packer and Universal, which eventually became the feature film Little in 2019. As the star and Executive Producer of the film, Martin made history as the youngest person to Executive Produce a major Hollywood film, earning her two more NAACP Image Awards.
With her production company, Genius Productions, Martin is committed to uplifting diverse and young voices in the entertainment industry. Genius Productions has expanded across various platforms, including television, digital, and live activations, and has signed an overall deal with Universal.
Martin's upcoming projects include an interior-design series for Discovery + called Remix My Space with Marsai Martin in 2022, as well as a feature film for Paramount+ partnered with The SpringHill Co. and Awesomeness called Fantasy Football in 2022.
In addition to her film and television projects, Martin has also served as an Executive Producer for the Girls Inc. Virtual Film Festival and co-created and produced a Gen Z financial literacy series for Verizon Media's "In The Know" called "Money with Marsai Martin." Recently, Martin appeared in the Universal/Dreamworks Animation film Spirit Untamed in 2021, as well as Paramount's feature film PAW Patrol: The Movie in 2021.
