Martine McCutcheon, a talented actress and singer, was born Martine Kimberley Sherri Ponting on May 14th, 1976, in Hackney, East London, to Jenny Tomlin (née Jeanette Lilian Ponting) and Thomas Hemmings. She has a younger brother named L.J.
Martine's early life was marked by her passion for the performing arts, as she began studying at the prestigious Italia Conti stage school in London at the age of 10. Her early career was characterized by a series of billboard ads and television appearances, including a role in the BBC children's series Bluebirds in 1989.
As she grew older, Martine's talents led to her being picked to front the all-girl band Milan, which toured with the popular group East 17. Although the band disbanded in April 1994, Martine's experience in the music industry laid the groundwork for her future success.
In January 1995, Martine's big break came when she was cast as Tiffany Raymond in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. During her four-year tenure on the show, Tiffany married Grant (played by Ross Kemp),had a daughter, and became a beloved character in the nation's heart.
However, Martine's departure from the show was marked by controversy, as she reportedly demanded the freedom to come and go within the series as she pleased, making it difficult for the show's writers to create coherent storylines for her character. As a result, Tiffany was killed off, and Martine left the show.
Undeterred, Martine went on to pursue a successful singing career, releasing six hit singles and three albums, two of which reached Gold and Platinum status.
