Matt Healy's life story began in Paisley, Scotland, where he was born, only to later change his name due to the existence of a renowned actor already known as David Healy. At the tender age of three, he made the move to Oldham in Lancashire with his parents, where he would spend his formative years, attending Oldham College and the University of Salford College.
After completing his education, Healy set out to explore the world, but ultimately decided to pursue a full-time career in acting. However, he didn't exactly follow a traditional path, as he spent a significant amount of time "resting" and taking on manual jobs between finding acting roles.
One of his early notable appearances was in a touring production of the comedy play "Girls' Night Out," where he played the role of a gay stripper who, quite literally, takes it all off. He also made a name for himself by appearing in several corporate videos and securing bit parts in various television series.
As the years went by, Healy began to feel like giving up on his acting dreams, but it was his audition for the role of devious Matthew King in the popular television soap opera "Emmerdale" in 2004 that ultimately changed his fate.
