Here is the biography of Matt Hardy:
Matt "Matt" Hardy, a talented wrestler, was trained by wrestling legend Dory Funk Jr. Before joining the WWF (now WWE) with his brother Jeff, the Hardy Boyz (or The Hardyz) ran their own promotion, Organization of Modern Extreme Arts (OMEGA) wrestling. Matt initially went by the name High Voltage, but had to change it due to a tag team in World Champion Wrestling (WCW) already using that name. He later went by the name Surge, but this was also stolen from another team. Matt and his brother Jeff started working for the WWF/E in the singles division as jobbers, with Matt being 19 years old and Jeff 16. They were given full-time contracts as a tag team in 1998.
The Hardy Boyz were known for their cruiserweight, fast-paced, high-flying style, and used to damage their opponents. They had various managers, including Michael Hayes and Terri Runnels, before facing Edge and Christian again, this time with the Dudley Boyz, in a Ladder Match at Wrestlemania 2000. They later made a name for themselves with a TLC Match against the Dudleyz and Edge and Christian.
The Hardys found a new manager, Lita, and named their team "Team Xtreme". Matt and Lita began an off-screen (later on-screen) relationship. In 2001, Matt turned on Jeff when Jeff won the Intercontinental Championship, becoming jealous of becoming a successful singles competitor. Matt went to Smackdown! and renamed himself "Matt Hardy - Version 0.1", creating the term "Mattitude". He had a stable called M'Fer, with Shannon Moore as his follower.
However, Matt and Lita split when she and Edge started an affair. Matt was released, along with friend Rhyno. Matt later returned to the WWE on Raw, facing Edge in a ladder match. He was signed to Smackdown! and wrestled on the web show Velocity, winning all of his matches. Matt is now dating Ashley Massaro.
