Matt's journey began after his honorable service in the United States Army as a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant on an Operational Detachment "A" team during Operation Desert Storm. During this time, he honed his skills as a skilled sniper.
Following his service, Matt transitioned into the world of acting and motion picture stunt work, a profession he had previously dabbled in before his time in the military. Over the past 15 years, he has demonstrated his versatility by performing stunts, stunt coordinating, acting, and even second unit directing.
Matt's military career didn't end with his initial service. He went on to serve another "tour" of duty in the Army reserves, where he was assigned to various elite units, including Army Special Operations, the JFK Special Warfare Center, and the USMC Basic Reconnaissance Course. He concluded his six-year tour in the reserves with Detachment 219, Naval Special Warfare Group 1, in October 2004, receiving an Honorable Discharge.
Interestingly, his tour ended while he was stationed in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He later returned from Iraq in April 2005, where he worked as a professional military contractor.
