Maud Linder, born in the year 1924, in the country of France, was the singular offspring of the renowned silent film comedian, Max Linder, often regarded as the very first international cinematic superstar.
Tragically, both her parents met an untimely demise when Maud was merely sixteen months of age, allegedly as a result of a "suicide pact", leaving her orphaned and bereft of parental guidance.
She was subsequently raised by her grandparents, who provided her with a stable and nurturing environment, allowing her to grow and develop without the burden of her parents' untimely passing.
However, it wasn't until she reached adulthood that Maud gained a deeper understanding of her father's significance and legacy, and it was during this period that she dedicated herself to preserving and celebrating his work.
In 1963, she released the compilation "Laugh With Max Linder", which showcased her father's most iconic and hilarious moments, followed by "The Man in the Silk Hat" in 1983, another widely acclaimed collection of his filmic endeavors.
In the 1990s, Maud Linder penned her autobiography, which was written in her native French language, offering a poignant and intimate glimpse into her life, her relationship with her father, and her experiences as the daughter of a cinematic legend.
