Maxx's journey in the entertainment industry began as an actor in Los Angeles, where he formed valuable connections with agents and casting directors that would later prove instrumental in his career as a manager. He then took a year-long break to star in the feature film Empires of the Deep in Beijing, which provided him with a unique experience and a broader perspective on the industry.
Upon his return, Maxx wrote and produced a Latin Ballroom Dance feature film comedy titled Tony Tango, collaborating with Andres DeOliveria to bring the project to life. The film's success was marked by its distribution and subsequent premieres at several prominent film festivals, including the New York International Film Festival, Miami International Film Festival, San Diego Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award, and Chicago Comedy Film Festival, where it won Best Comedy.
During the festival run of Tony Tango, Maxx was introduced to influential talent manager Barry Katz, who offered him a job supporting him in all aspects of his business. Maxx seized the opportunity to learn from the man who had helped launch the careers of numerous prominent comedians, including Dave Chappelle, Wanda Sykes, Marc Maron, Whitney Cummings, Jim Gaffigan, and Tracy Morgan.
Over the next five years, Maxx worked closely with Barry Katz Entertainment, producing the influential podcast "Industry Standard" alongside Mr. Katz, which featured esteemed guests such as Kenya Barris, Judd Apatow, Russell Peters, Dennis Rodman, Caitlyn Jenner, Patricia Heaton, and Estee Adoram, among others. Maxx also played a key role in managing clients at Barry Katz Entertainment, including Kirk Fox, Bill Bellamy, Ben Gleib, and Brad Williams.
